Evil Twin Christmas Eve At A New York City Hotel Room Review

Evil Twin Brewing of Denmark makes a number of Imperial Stouts including a Christmas beer brewed with sour cherries. Christmas Eve At A New York City Hotel Room takes the record for the longest name, and is an excellent Imperial Stout.

Christmas Eve At A New York City Hotel Room pours almost black with a thin tan head that goes to a few bubbles and lace quickly. The aroma is of toasted malts, coffee, raisins, and soy sauce. It tastes thick. It’s rich with bitter dark chocolate, almost-burnt malts, some alcohol presence and bitterness as it goes down. The aftertaste is like that of a sugared double espresso, but without the coffee. It’s pleasant and full. Make sense? It’s 10% ABV.

Evil Twin makes a bourbon barrel aged version called Room Number 603. I look forward to trying it, once I get my hands on a bottle.

Enjoy this sipper!

While it's difficult to picture Santa as a young man, he was once. He met the future Mrs. Claus one snowy night when she offered him a winter ale that she brewed herself. It was love at first sight - for both the Mrs. and her winter ales. With Santa's growing fame, his favorite brews became named after his favorite day - Christmas. Santa now travels the world each year to spread the joy that began in a stable in Bethlehem two millennia ago.
