Evil Twin Imperial Biscotti Break Natale Review

Evil Twin Brewing of Denmark, has set up shop in the USA. Famous for many outrageous beers, their Imperial Biscotti Break is an Imperial Stout brewed with coffee, almonds, and vanilla – everything a good coffee break needs. Their Christmas beer is Imperial Biscotti Break Natale Pretty Please With A Cherry On Top. You guessed it, it’s made with sour cherries.

Imperial Biscotti Break Natale pours black with a chocolate head of foam that reduce quickly, and re-emerges with a swirl of the glass. It smells sweet with cocoa, caramel, and dark Kirsch Cherries. The flavor is creamy, full-bodied cocoa and coffee, followed by fruits: cherry and amaretto. It’s sweet, but also a slight tug on your cheeks, ending in a smooth bitter finish. There’s a lot happening in the glass! On further tasting, it’s a bowl of creamy chocolate chip cookie dough, covered in thick toasted caramelize stout with dark Kirsch Cherry syrup poured over it all. It’s 11.5% ABV, my year-old bottle has no booziness to betray that large alcohol punch.

I love this in a glass. It would be wonderful over ice cream. And certainly in front of the fire.

While it's difficult to picture Santa as a young man, he was once. He met the future Mrs. Claus one snowy night when she offered him a winter ale that she brewed herself. It was love at first sight - for both the Mrs. and her winter ales. With Santa's growing fame, his favorite brews became named after his favorite day - Christmas. Santa now travels the world each year to spread the joy that began in a stable in Bethlehem two millennia ago.
